28 and 29th June Strike and Protests

On the 28th and 29th of June, there was a planned 2-day general strike to oppose the mid-term rescue plan, which was undergoing voting in the Greek Parliament.

This plan is about liquidating and transferring state assets to international lenders, in sell-out prices, to "guarantee" debt repayment. There was no popular backing regarding this plan, yet the government proceeded nonetheless.

Massive peaceful protests were arranged, however police and provocateurs ensured that these protests were halted - despite the peoples resilience. There was excessive police brutality - with many people suddenly waking up to the fact that they do not really live in a democracy. I guess thats the first step to correcting a situation: awareness of the problem.

International media were showing "riots in Greece" but the fact is that these events started by a team of approximately 200 provocateurs (amidst tens of thousands of people). Their purpose was clear: Initiate violence and justify police retaliation (which would be directed against peaceful protesters).

People are now considering their next moves on how to respond to the illegitimate government and police-state which has usurped peoples will in order to conduct its own agenda / foreign agenda.
